East Bluff recommended for 100 Homes program

I wanted to take a moment and update progress on the 100 Homes program. The design committee has recommended the East Bluff neighborhood as the area for our first year. The neighborhood designated the area from Locust South to 14th and from Perry East to Carey. A number of criteria were reviewed for the recommendation. The selection is before the council for final approval next week.

The 100 Homes program offers forgivable loans ($15,000) to persons from any income bracket for home improvements on new purchases in the selected area. I hope all goes well in the first year and we can move forward with a solid effort with existing projects in this area and with the neighborhood association. I would like to thank the lending institutions that helped to provide funding, the committee volunteers, and my colleagues for their support of this new project. I hope this will be one component that helps us build better neighborhoods in the future.
