The RiverVision concept, with its ongoing cooperation between Rock Island and Davenport sounds like absolutely the right direction. The Mississippi has always greatly defined the Quad Cities and it is only right that it should be an asset to future development.

Having formerly lived in Rock Island and raised our family there in a greatfamily community environment I continue to share your interest in developing the "Rivervision" concept.

As well as having lived in Rock Island I worked in Davenport making crossing the river a daily event. The river always had a certain amount of fascination with all of the different kinds of traffic plying those waters. The fascination of the Roller Dams and Locks and watching the Barges being lifted or lowered was something of a lot of interest to a lot of people from all over.

When we see and read about all of the advantages the city of Dubuque is exploiting to the betterment and the economy of that city I think it behooves the cities of Rock Island, Bettendorf and Davenport to try to further develop this asset that we tend to take for granted.

As the Grandfather of Ian Frink, the Alderman At Large of Davenport, and the Father of Robert B. Frink, Jr. of Rock Island, I commend Ian and his initiative to promote this project.

Robert B. Frink, Sr. of Cedar Rapids, IA.
